Started with Joomla a few years ago and I must admit that there is not one of the easiest content management system specially designed for beginners.

It’s does not come with step by step guide that teaches you how to create a website from scratch. The manual (also in the time of writing) is on functional aspects rather than looking from the perspective of the user.

Over the years, I found that to provide only 5 steps to a basic site with Joomla content management system. I share in these 5 steps to help you if you still can not figure out after reviewing the manual. The first step is to design your site map (in three levels deep) on a piece of paper. Take a Beauty & Spa website provided, for example, is the top-level home, it’s branches to two children each namely services and products. Services will be branching off to the other two children, namely massage and facial. Products are diverting to toner and cleanser. Once you have three of the site, you can now be classified as Section Home, services and products than four categories, and the rest as articles. The articles are also known as Web pages in Joomla related.

The second step is to create the section (s) in Joomla Content Management System. For this example, you have only one part – the home page. You can create new sections by clicking on Content – Section Manager. Next is to create groups in your area. One point to note is recalled, the class under the correct section tag. You can date and type of content by the content – Category Manager.

The third step is to articles on creating web pages for your website. You can do this using the Content – Article Manager. Joomla comes with a powerful editor, easily know the content of the pages without having to create the codes.

The fourth step is to create a menu will appear for your link too. This step is necessary if you want people who click on a link to the article. You can create the menu by clicking the menu option. Once the option to create a new menu and put in links to the menu.

The fifth step is to activate the menu. Many people forget this step and this is precisely the reason why not show the menu. That is because we do not say where you should see the Joomla menu. Therefore, you should go to the manager module and find the name of the menu, then select. The module manager, you can choose where you can position your menu.
